ABOUT US
THE STATE OF BLACK BRITAIN SYMPOSIUM (SBBS) organises an annual dialogue for and between black communities within the UK involving experts in their field, community-based organisers, practitioners, politicians and faith leaders. SBBS also provides speakers, facilitators, expert commentators on issues and for events that specifically explore themes that of of interest to African & Caribbean communities and wider society as a whole.
SBBS is the brain-child of The Revd David Shosanya. David currently serves as a Regional Minister with the London Baptist Association and is a co-founder of the nationally acclaimed Street Pastors Initiative. David is a highly sought after speaker and was recently awarded a Gold Medal (with distinction) in Public Speaking from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). David holds a BA (Hons) degree in Theology and Religious Studies. He is married to Yvonne. They have two children. They live in Surrey.
The organisation and execution of the symposium is a team effort. I am therefore grateful to the following individuals for their support, insights and the professional expertise they bring to make this event what it is. Thanks to:
- Christine Bongo
- Larraine Darby
- Thelma Purcell
- Yvonne Dowie
