"THE STATE OF BLACK BRITAIN SYMPOSIUM has been a vision that I have carried for many years. I am glad it is now a reality! I invite you to join us as together we work to to create a better future for black communities across the UK and the world."

Our vision for THE STATE OF BLACK BRITAIN SYMPOSIUM is to create a forum that initiates and facilitates relevant conversations across black communities locally, regionally, nationally, internationally and globally.

Creating a platform for black communities to dialogue is so important that we have chosen not to charge a fee for entrance to the symposium.

We invite to you take a few moments to look at the aims of the symposium and to explore other content on our website.

We aim to:

  • Create a platform for leading thinkers and experienced community practitioners to share their thoughts/insights with black communities across the UK.
  • Encourage critical analysis, dialogue and action around key issues of concern to African diasporic communities across the UK.
  • Encourage greater involvement in social, political, economic and faith-based fora across the UK.
  • Encourage strategic thinking and inter-community relationships that build and empower black communities across the UK to make to make a contribution to local communities and society at large.
  • Encourage the promotion of African and Caribbean history and cultural values as essential tools for building and living in communities.
